The success story of Sir Madanlal Group Of Institutions (SMGI) started with the establishment of Saraswati Gyan Mandir Yojna ( Presently running 13500 Schools) in 1976 and continued with a new chapter added to it every year currently having strength of about 279000 students with a faculty ratio of 1:25.
Our beloved founder Late Shri Madanlal Yadav Ji, reverently called as ‘Sir Madanlal’ by his students had begun the group with small unit schools. His vision inspired the Education fraternity in and around Etawah and he had set this foundation for quality education for all masses and communities as early 1980’s and helped the district leapfrog into the ranks of educational realms. He was a patriot and a humanist whose ideals and vision shaped an exceptional educational conglomerate that we see today. Sir Madanlal Ji was more than just a teacher or headmaster who helped Etawah take her place in the league of education hub.
The educationist in Sir Madanlal Ji was a pioneer and a visionary, possessed of a spirit of adventure and acumen never seen before or since in a native of the then small and rural Etawah. The nationalist in him believed unwaveringly that the fruits of his educational success would enrich the entire district he cared deeply about. These attributes, by themselves, would have been enough to mark him as an extraordinary figure. But what made ‘Sir Madanlal’ truly unique was his humaneness that placed him ahead of all educationists of his time.
It is this characteristic from which stemmed Sir Madanlal Ji’s generosity of heart and his compassion for a citizenry labouring hard to meet the ends as well as provide quality education to the native residents of Etawah. The distinctive structure that the SMGI group came to adopt after Sir Madanlal Ji’s passing, with a part of its assets being held by trusts devoted to ploughing money into social-development initiatives, can be traced directly to the empathy embedded in the Founder's philosophy of charity and social cause.
It is said that Sir Madanlal Ji turned each occasion of interaction to an educational opportunity or was it skilful management, clear thinking and honesty that did the trick? He had an uncanny knack for recognizing a good prospect for learning and a selfless will to improve the lot of his community.
